We use an unusual combination of Natural Plant Oils, Scientific Technology and Powerful Natural Anti-Oxidants to restore and replenish your skin.

Using Natural Oils

We use a range of natural oils and butters which penetrate deeply into the skin to nourish and rejuvenate your complexion.

They are non-oily and absorb immediately into the skin making your skin feel soft and velvety.

We use a base of natural oils which have a similar weight to human sebum (your naturally produced skin protection) and add to these special oils that add particular benefits for each product.

Our Every Day Face Protecting Cream contains apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil

Our Every Night Face Replenishing Cream contains avocado oil, evening primrose oil, grapeseed oil, blackcurrent oil, and jojoba oil.

Our deeply penetrating Eye Cream contains grapeseed and rosehip oils.

Apricot Kernel (Prunus armeniaca) oill comes from the large pits of apricots that yield up to 45% oil. Apricot kernel oil has 30% unsaturated essential fatty acid content. The oil is similar in weight to human sebum. Extremely nourishing to the skin and excellent around the eyes and neck. Apricot kernel oil is an emollient. This oil helps make the skin feel softer and smoother, reduce roughness, cracking and irritation, and may retard the fine wrinkles of aging.

Avocado(Persea americana) oil is made from the pulp of the avocado fruit. It is a rich, heavy but penetrating oil that is full of nutritive and therapeutic components. Avocado oil contains more than 20 % essential unsaturated fatty acids. It contains vitamins A, C, D and E, proteins, beta-carotene, lecithin, fatty acids and the "youth mineral" potassium. Avocado oil is high in unsaponifiables (sterolins) which are reputed to be beneficial in reducing age spots, healing scars and moisturizing the upper layers of the skin. Unsaponifiables are a large group of compounds called plant steroids or sterolins. They soften the skin, have superior moisturizing effect on the upper layer of the skin and reduce scars. The sterolins in avocado oil have been found to diminish age spots

Sweet Almond (Prunus amygdales) oil is a light nearly odorless oil. Sweet almond oil is said to have great nutritional value for all skin types. Has a similar make up to baby's sebum, the oil naturally produced by the skin to protect it and is easily absorbed. Contain glucosides, minerals, and vitamins and is rich in protein. Sweet almond oil has very little natural smell and can be used as a perfume base. It was highly valued by the Egyptians for cosmetic purposes.

Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) oil is cold pressed from the nuts of the jojoba tree which is cultivated in California, Arizona, Mexico and Israel. Jojoba is pronounced Ho Ho Ba. Jojoba is technically not an oil, but a liquid wax ester with a long unsaturated carbon chains. It resembles human sebum; the natural coating our body produces to protect the skin and keeps it supple. Jojoba is skin therapy; our skin loses sebum with age, sun, wind, cold, and the environment. It contains protein, minerals and a waxy substance that mimics collagen. Jojoba is perfect for any skin type it has a large molecular structure. Jojoba can help dry or oily skin. If your skin has an over production of sebum jojoba oil will dissolve clogged pores and restore the skin to its natural pH balance. The reason jojoba oil works so well is that it actually penetrates the skin because it is accepted as sebum.

Black Currant (Ribes nigrum) oil is obtained from the fruit of the Ribes nigrum. High in fatty acids, especially in GLA. It is included to help restore damaged skin and aid in the reconstruction of cell membranes.

Evening Primrose (Oenothers bennis) oil is taken from the seeds of the evening primrose. The name comes from the fact that its flowers blossom in the evening and wither in the day. Evening primrose oil has high gamma linoliec acid, which is an essential polyunsaturated fatty acid that is converted into prostaglandins and hormones. Because evening primrose oil has an extremely high gamma linolenic acid (GLA) content it has been extensively researched. GLA is vital for the synthesis of prostaglandin an important function in the body, especially the skin. Linoliec acid is said to rejuvenate skin cells. Evening primrose is full of vitamins and minerals. It also repairs damaged skin, keeps skin healthy, helps repair sun damaged and mature skin. Evening primrose oil is an emollient which helps to make the skin feel softer and smoother.

Grapeseed (Vitis vinifera) oil is made from the seeds of wine producing grapes. The lightest of oils and virtually odorless. Contains vitamins, minerals, high in polyunsaturates and protein. Grapeseed oil is wonderful used around the eyes and neck. Widely used in hypoallergenic natural products because it does not often cause allergic reactions in the highly allergic.

Rose Hip (Rosa mosqueta) oil is extracted from ripened fruit of a hybrid, thorny, wild rosebush native to South American countries. A healing oil that is said to regenerate the skin and counteract the effects of aging. Rose hip oil is a rich source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, is high in gamma linoliec acid (GLA) and vitamin C. Rose hip oil is often used in products made for mature dry skin as it is an emollient.

Powerful Anti-Ageing Formulations

Scientific Technology

Heptapeptide is one of the newest anti-ageing ingredients discovered so far and is now being used in only the best anti-ageing creams. It is known to mimic the action of laminin-5, an important molecule that is present in the dermal-epidermal junction and is responsible for improving its function. Studies have indicated that laminin-5 is necessary for the health and appearance of the skin and is directly involved with skin ageing. Clinical studies indicate that using Heptapeptide over a 21 day period helps tonify the skin, improves its smoothness and helps regenerate and renew the skin on a cellular level. We use heptapeptide in both our Every Day Face Protecting Cream and our Every Night Face Replenishing Cream.

  • It will enhance the integrity of the skin and improve its function through the dermal-epidermal junction. The structure of this junction is one of the first places of the skin to be altered by ageing.
  • Heptapeptide mimics the action of laminin-5, an important protein present in the basement layer of the skin and responsible for improving its function. The basement layer is where cellular communication, cohesion and cellular regeneration occur.
  • Heptapeptide also stimulates the synthesis of integrins and keratins which are proteins produced in the epidermis and that are involved in the barrier function of the skin. They are involved in cell to cell adhesion, improving the skin barrier function and allow the skin to appear firmer.
  • Heptapeptide stimulates the biosynthesis and secretion of laminin-5 and B1 integrins, which may assist in protecting the basement membrane against damage caused by ageing and helps to improve its structure and function.
  • Heptapeptide increases the biosynthesis of collagen producing genes; Collagen I and Collagen III, which are important because they are responsible for the extensive connective tissue that is found in the skin, lungs and vascular system. As part of the etracellular matrix, its main function is to create resistance to mechanical tension and provide skin support.
  • Heptapeptide also stimulates the biosynthesis of fibronectin, which is a glycoprotein that assists in the process of wound healing and is involved in cell adhesion, cellular growth, migration and differentiation

Natural Anti-Oxidants

We combine our natural oils with Powerful Natural Anti-Oxidants which act to reduce the free-radicals in your skin. Anti-oxidants help to reduce the effects of sun damage, aging and general wear and tear on your skin.

The antioxidants used in skin care are mostly derived from Vitamins A and E. The derivatives of Vitamins A (retinol) and E combat free radicals. Other antioxidants work by exfoliating the dead skin on the surface to reveal newer, younger-looking skin underneath. Still others create a barrier to prevent moisture loss from the cells.

Both our day and night facial creams contain Vitamin A & E, Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), and Green Tea Extract.

Vitamin E is the most widely used ingredient in skin care products, used for its moisturising and antioxidant properties. We use only natural Vitamin E at a level of 5% in all our products.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is another emerging anti-oxidant which can penetrate deep into cells to improve the overall appearance of the skin and moisturize lines and wrinkles, helps to clear oil from enlarged pores. We use it in our day and night face creams.

. Green Tea Extract is a well know anti-oxidant . Both animal and human studies have credibly demonstrated that topical green tea formulations reduce sun damage. appears to exert sun damage protection by quenching free radicals and reducing inflammation rather than by blocking UV rays. Therefore, green tea may synergistically enhance sun protection when used in addition to a sunscreen. We use Green Tea extract in all our face and eye creams.

Gingko extract is wonderful natural anti-oxidant, which helps to diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Gingko soothes the irritation of dry skin, and is a stimulating tonic to the skin. We use Gingko in our Every Night Face Replenishing Cream.

Alpha hydroxy acids such a lactic acid, are found naturally in yoghurt, fruit and sugar cane. They are used in skin care because of their exfoliating effects on the skin. We use lactic acid in our Exfoliating Cream which works by sloughing away the outer layer of dead skin cells, revealing the newer, smoother cells underneath. This results in a fresher, healthier complexion and reduced pore size, which then allow the full effects of the anti-oxidants in our day and night face creams to penetrate deeply into the skin.
